The importance of IoT device security and how to approach it.

In recent years the security demands for IoT devices have increased up to the recent “IoT Security Bill” passed in the USA. These requests are largely justified by the very high pervasiveness of IoT devices. Making an IoT application secure as a whole is an essential need for all stakeholders, from service managers to users.
Security must begin in IoT devices from the early stages of the design and must cover all aspects of the life of the device, from production, to installation in the field, from use, up to their withdrawal at the end of their life.
It is necessary to provide for the possibility of being able to update the defenses of the devices, in order to correct and adapt their behavior while they are exposed over time in a potentially hostile and constantly evolving environment.
